Nova Koloso is the 2021 debut album from Baltimore's Nova Koloso, blending heavy stoner rock, expansive psychedelia, progressive songwriting, and atmospheric experimentation across eight immersive tracks.
Built around thick guitar riffs, hypnotic grooves, soaring melodies, and adventurous arrangements, the album moves between crushing heaviness, spacey textures, intricate rhythms, and memorable hooks. Drawing inspiration from both classic and modern psychedelic and progressive rock, Nova Koloso establishes the project's distinctive balance of powerful rock songwriting and sprawling musical exploration.
Mark Colegrove performs guitar, vocals, bass, and keyboards throughout the album, with Tom Colegrove contributing drums on “Idiot in Suspense” and “Pure Enzyme.” The album was mixed and mastered by Steve Wright at Wright Way Studios, with cover artwork by Fiona Fong.
