About the Album
Vampyre is a 10-song concept album from Washington, DC darkwave gothic rock band The Neuro Farm. Blending haunting vocal harmonies, soaring violin, driving guitars, atmospheric synths, and dark electronic textures, the album follows a single narrative of transformation, disillusionment, rebellion, and power.
Vampyrism is a curse dating back to biblical times. The story follows a woman lured by the promise of immortality and given the curse by the egomaniacal leader of a vampyric cult. As disillusionment grows within the cult, she begins to build a following of her own. Eventually, she rejects her maker and his decaying institution, says a final farewell to her mortal husband, turns away from humanity, embraces her new nature, and destroys her former master in the “Midnight Massacre” before declaring herself queen.
Released on October 29, 2021, Vampyre marked the first full-length Neuro Farm album featuring Tim Phillips on synths and programming alongside Brian Wolff, Rebekah Feng, and DreamrD.
